Gulf Air flight to Bahrain returned to London Heathrow in middle of the night.
Gulf Air flight #GF6 to Bahrain departed London Heathrow at 00:30 BST this Friday, August 2 2024.
The Boeing 787-9 (registration A9C-FA) took off from runway 09L and immediately entered holding pattern at 8,000 ft.
The pilots had to deal with a technical issue with the aircraft, but we don’t have more details at this time.
Full emergency response was triggered at London Heathrow as the Boeing 787-9 didn’t dump fuel and performed a heavy landing on runway 09L. Fire crew had to check the brakes before the aircraft taxied back to the terminal.
The flight has been cancelled and the plane is grounded for the moment.

According to Flight Emergency, the aircraft suffered a nose gear door problem.
