A Doha-bound flight from Kuala Lumpur made an emergency landing in the Chennai airport following a medical emergency.
Wednesday, June 12 2024, the Malaysian Airlines flight #MH160 from Kuala Lumpur was heading to Doha with 254 passengers on board.
About 2 hours into the flight, a 54-year-old man, who was travelling with his family, suffered severe chest pain.
As soon as the pilot was informed, the crew contacted ATC and requested an emergency landing in the nearest Airport.
The flight was performed by an Airbus A350-900 (registration 9M-MAH).
After the permission was granted, the flight landed in the Chennai airport at 12.50 am. A waiting medical team rushed inside the but the Malaysian passenger already died due to a cardiac arrest.
Immigration officials then arranged an emergency visa for his family members and the body was sent to post-mortem building.
Meanwhile, the flight resumed to Qatar at around 2.30 am.
