55 years ago today, a Douglas DC-6B (SE-BDY) carrying United Nations Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld flew from Elisabethville Airport, Congo to Léopoldville-N’Djili Airport then to their destination Ndola Airport, Zambia to negotiate a cease-fire.
