Finnair A350 Crushes Airport Worker to Death at Helsinki Airport In Tragic Accident.

An Aviator Finland ground worker was tragically killed early Saturday morning at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport after becoming trapped between a Finnair aircraft and a lavatory service vehicle.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. after Finnair flight #AY62, had arrived from Tokyo Haneda and offloaded all passengers. The aircraft was being moved to a remote parking location away from the gate.

According to reports, a towing crew began pushing the Airbus A350-900 back from the gate, unaware that a lavatory waste truck was still stationed under the aircraft’s rear, where the worker was actively servicing it.

The individual was fatally injured in the incident.

Police have launched a criminal investigation to review the actions of the towing crew, with potential charges for causing death and endangering safety.

The aircraft (registration OH-LWO) was scheduled to perform flight #AY87 to Shanghai today, but the flight is cancelled.

Finnair has offered condolences to the worker’s family and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
