An Emirates A380 to Birmingham was forced to divert to Manchester after 2 landing attempts.

Emirates flight #EK39 was scheduled to land at 12:25 at Birmingham, UK.

The Airbus A380 (registration A6-EVB) was put on hold at 10,000 ft near BHX airport before a first landing attempt on runway 33 at 13:17 BST.

The aircraft went around due to a strong crosswind and heavy rain. A second attempt resulted in the same action due to low visbility.

The flight then was vectored to Manchester Airport where it landed one hour later.

We are in the process of rebooking the flights to final destination and will send updated itinerary shortly.
