Chisinau International Airport was evacuated on Sunday after a bomb threat was reported.

Passengers were disembarked from aircraft and cleared from the terminal, while specialist units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived on site to conduct a search.

Trolleybus service in the vicinity of the airport has also been disrupted. The Chisinau Electric Transport Company announced that route number 30 will be diverted to Airport Street until further notice.

Wizz Air flight #W93934 from London Luton circled and finally landed at Iasi International Airport, Romania.

LOT flight #LO515 from Warsaw circled for 30 minutes then finally was allowed to land at Chisinau Airport.

Following a thorough search in that instance, the alert was determined to be a hoax. Airport operations resumed normal activity after the threat was deemed non-credible.

An investigation has also been launched into the source of the latest threat as there was a similar incident the day before.
