Lufthansa #LH940 attempted to land at Manchester then returned all the way back to Frankfurt

As storm Pia hit the UK, several flights to Manchester had to divert.

Lufthansa flight #LH940 from Frankfurt to Manchester departed at 08:20 CET and was planned to land at 10:50 GMT at Manchester.

But after 1h30 flight, the Airbus A321 was placed on hold due to regulated traffic.

After 25 minutes, the aircraft started final approach to runway 23R.

But due to winds gusting up to 43 kt at the moment, the pilots performed a go around.

The crew decided to not attempt a second landing and climbed to 36,000ft back to Frankfurt.

The A321 landed back at Frankfurt after a flight of 3h and 27 minutes.
