Pilots of flight to to San Jose Do Rio Preto mistakenly approached another airport.
During flight #LA4640 from Sao Paulo to San Jose Do Rio Preto, Brazil, the pilots mistakenly approached Catanduva Airport (SBCD), Brazil.
The Airbus A320 (reg. PR-MHM) approached runway 24 at Catanduva Airport until Sao Jose ATC alerted the crew that they were approaching the wrong airport.
According to The Aviation Herald, the crew reported a GPS mismatch.
The A320 safely landed at its destination 15 min later.
