More than 100 Pratt Whitney-engined Airbus A320neo, A321neo, A220 and Embraer E2 aircraft are on the ground around the world.

The engines’ manufacturer experience problems after a very short period of use.

Four A321neos with PW engines in the Turkish Airlines fleet are currently on the ground at Istanbul Airport.

Talks continue between Turkish Airlines Airbus and Pratt Whitney, but there are concerns that the number of A321neos that will be on the ground will increase due to engine problems.

For this reason, India-based Go First Airways may have more than 30 planes grounded and filed for bankruptcy after stopping flight operations.

It is not yet clear whether Turkish Airlines will order a Pratt Whitney engine or a smoother CFM engine for the new A320neo family order.
