Moldovan airspace has just been closed due to the fact that a reconnaissance drone flew into the country.

Following the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Airspace Management, a NOTAM was issued for the temporary closure of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova at 11:24 a.m., February 14, in order to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation

  • UPDATE At 2:47 p.m., the airspace was reopened.
  • UPDATE Authorities in Bucharest informed Chisinau that an object similar to a drone, belonging to another state, flew over the airspace of the country.

Passengers currently staying at Chisinau Airport are asked to remain calm and follow the latest information. Airport closed.

According to some Ukrainian Telegram channels, two drones taken off from Belarus allegedly entered Ukrainian airspace.

One of them would have entered the airspace of the Republic of Moldova.
