COMAC’s C919 prototype will be heading to Ontario, Canada for certification test flights of natural icing conditions in March.

The certification flights will be conducted out of London International Airport. The International Test Pilots School (ITPS) will provide logistics and a test pilot and meteorologist services for the test flights.

The test flights are scheduled to be conducted in March 2021 but may be delayed to the fall of 2021 depending on travel restrictions and other factors.

The Chinese manufacturer hopes to achieve certification of the aircraft this year. The natural icing test flights are some of the final test flights to take place before the certification.

One of the six prototype C919s will be used for the certification flights out of London International Airport in Ontario.
