British Airways is restarting flights between London Gatwick and Manchester Airport next year after an interval of many years.

The flight will be operated daily from 28th March 2021 as BA2508/BA2509. This shows that British Airways does still aim to preserve its valuable slot portfolio at Gatwick.

British Airways suspended Gatwick-Manchester service in 2013 with a focus on point-to-point traffic. BA also suspended services at London Gatwick at the beginning of the Pandemic earlier this year.

Regarding this resumption, a BA spokesperson told Business Traveller:

“We are pleased to introduce this daily service between Manchester and London Gatwick which will allow customers easier access to our long-haul destinations from Gatwick.”

Flight BA2508 will depart London Gatwick at 09:45 and arrive in Manchester at 10:55 daily, except on Monday & Friday. The timings are ten minutes later on Mondays and Fridays.

Similarly, Flight BA2509 will depart Manchester at 07:00 arriving at Gatwick at 08:15 except on Tuesdays. The timings are ten minutes later on Tuesdays arriving at Gatwick at 08:25,

British Airways will deploy Airbus A319s on this route.
