Maurice Ferrier will never forget the day of his 95th birthday.

This former butcher, who had never boarded a plane, dreamed of going “to see what’s going on up there”.

“If I’m fine at 95, I absolutely want to do it”. And he did. Maurice Ferrier wanted to celebrate his birthday in a way that is unusual at his age: take his first flight and jump in the process.

The man jumped to 4,000 meters above sea level under the eyes of his family.

The whole family gathered to accompany Maurice to Chalon Champforgeuil airport in Saône-et-Loire, France on Friday August 7, 2020.

50 seconds of free fall and five minutes in a parachute before landing. “It’s going fast,” he blurted out, still a little blown away by his experience.
