On Aug. 19, a Boeing 757-200 from Delta Air Lines made a rough landing at Ponta Delgada Airport in the Azores. The fuselage of the aircraft was wrinkled during the incident. In addition to the fuselage, the landing gear was also damaged.

The airline rented an Antonov An-124 from the Russian freighter operator Volga-Dnepr to bring the required parts to fix the damaged sections of the aircraft.

The aircraft arrived in the island on Aug. 27. This is the first time the Portuguese airport welcomed an Antonov An-124.
