According to industry insiders, Chinese airlines are preparing to order up to 100 Boeing 787 and newly developed 777X.

An order of this size would be a welcome back move for Boeing who has been struggling with the 737 MAX related problems for a while.

However, the continuing trade confrontation between China and the US can still throw a spanner in the works.

Chinese aviation is experiencing strong growth. As a result, there is a great need for new aircraft. Large orders are regularly placed with Western manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing, whereby the ordered aircraft are subsequently distributed among various airlines in the country.
