The pilot was at a height of just 250ft and moments before landing when he saw the drone on the right hand side of the aircraft. The jet which was flying at around 150mph after a 12 hour flight from Seoul, Korea, was carrying up to 214 passengers.
The close call happened at 1.38pm on March 17, just four days after new laws banned drone flying within 5kms of airport runways. Previous rules banned drones from flying within 1km of any airport in the UK.
