Lufthansa board has announced it will sell six of its 14 Airbus A380 amid a new mega order.
Lufthansa has ordered 20 Boeing 787-9 and 20 additional Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft to replace its older four-engine planes as it seeks to boost the fuel efficiency of its fleet, the German airlines group said on Wednesday.
The new planes will be delivered from late 2022 to 2027.
The company said it plans to sell six of its 14 A380 planes to Airbus, with the planes leaving Lufthansa in 2022 and 2023.
