Flight carrying Irish rugby team diverted for a technical issue

Flybe Flight #BE653 has safely landed at Belfast International Airport just after midday Sunday 14th January, having been diverted there for a technical issue.

The plane departed Birmingham and was en route to Knock airport.

The plane was carrying the Irish Rugby Provincial Team – Connacht.

The Connacht team were in Worcester last night, where a draw secured their place in the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
