A radio jammer has been used to perform a complete act of selfishness.

ATIS first reported that Melbourne Airport’s ground frequency 121.70 was down at about 4:50pm on Monday afternoon.

Airservices Australia later confirmed that a unknown vehicle parked at the airport was to blame.

“@S118869 @Melair A vehicle at airport had an open mic affecting 121.7. Traffic transferred to another frequency. No delays or safety impact”

All ground communications were transferred to an alternative frequency.

All frequency’s are now operating as normal.
