Akbar Al Baker, group chief executive for Qatar Airways has met with officials in Washington DC to add the airline’s voice to the on-going US Open Skies debate. The move comes ahead of planned Qatar Airways launches to Los Angeles, Boston, and Atlanta. Al Baker refuted the “baseless” claims of the “Big Three” US airlines – American, Delta & United – calling them “a transparent attempt to block new competition and limit consumer choice”.
