On easyJet flights U26747 from Belfast to Reykjavik and U21805 from Manchester to Reykjavik, the pilot took a diversion and circled above the ocean so the passengers could have a good view of the solar eclipse.

The spot where the pilot circled the plane, just to the north west of Scotland, was said to be the best spot on earth from which to view the rare astronomic spectacle.
