NEWS Spain’s Castellón–Costa Azahar Airport gets its first airline since opening years ago

The Irish budget airline many know of, Ryanair, will become the first airline to begin regular flights to a Spanish airfield, named as the “ghost airport”. Ryanair’s flights will begin to Bristol and London Stansted from 15th September.

It will be the airports first significant boost since it opened in 2011.

The airport in Castellón has been sitting completely empty since it was built for €150m.

Backers of the airport promised hundreds of thousands of tourists would flock to the new airport thats about 45 miles north from Valencia on the Spanish coast.
