Travelling by air is a bunch of fun and excitement. The moment you step into a plane, you are setting yourself up for the new feelings of adventure. But the process of travelling by plane can also be tedious and frustrating.

This is especially true for gamblers who can’t attend to their favourite activities like gaming on amazing sites like Zodiac casino, and we all understand how terrible it is to have your middle seat all boring. In-flight entertainment can help, but there is still much needed for a complete flying experience.

The airline industry has tried to incorporate casinos as a means of in-flight entertainment, hoping to improve the overall experience for passengers. But the efforts have been fruitless because of various travelling rules and regulations. And this has made gamblers wonder about the possibility of enjoying quality games from top platforms.

How does the popularity of online casinos impact in-flight entertainment?

The airline industry is a business similar to other markets. The main goal is to earn profit and bring more customers. Airlines need to find things that will enhance the flight experience to achieve these goals. TV shows and movies are limited. People prefer their own entertainment. If casino options are added, people will have a good reason to select that airline.

The idea of the in-flight casino isn’t new

The idea of incorporating casinos as an in-flight entertainment has been floated before. In 1981, Singapore Airlines put a few slot machines in their planes as an extra service. However, the idea lasted for a few months before the machines were uninstalled.

Swiss air also tried to implement the idea in the 90s, offering gamblers the opportunity to wager up to $350 on blackjack, keno, and poker. The equipment was later removed after gambling was linked to a cause of the 1998 crash.

Reasons why it has not been possible

The governing laws are very strict about casinos on flights. They don’t act favourably towards casinos and other gambling activities on planes. In fact, commercial laws are governed by the states where they are flying and not the countries where planes are registered. So, it is pretty difficult to enforce a law outside your country. One country may allow casinos, and another one may not.

When do we expect the in-flight casino to be implemented?

We can’t tell precisely when the casino will be implemented, it is up to the companies. The biggest airline companies take a long time to make decisions. For that reason, it could take years before seeing casinos on planes.

Also, many things need to be figured out before implementing casinos on the plane. For instance, airlines have to iron down whether to implement slot machines or build software-based games. Each comes with advantages and disadvantages that can cause a severe debate.

But with the online casino industry booming, the odds are good that there will be online casinos available on planes soon.
