A Hermes-900 surveillance drone of Chilean Air Force had emergency landing in Catuin River of Chile.
On the afternoon of last Friday, February 10, the Chilean Air Force No. 2 Aviation Group confirmed that an Elbit Systems Hermes Q900 unmanned aircraft fell into the Cautín River, in the Araucanía region.
The drone was being used to monitor forest fires in the south of the country.
According to reports, the drone, which was being used with the National Forestry Corporation to support decision-making in the emergency situation that Chile is going through, had to make a forced landing on the south bank of the river Cautín, near Venice.

The Chilean Air Force personnel traveled to the crash site aboard a Bell 412 helicopter and subsequently removed the damaged drone.
The Hermes 900 unmanned aircraft of Aviation Group nº 2, of the 1st Air Brigade, had been carrying out important work, being a fundamental technological tool for monitoring, preventing and combating to forest fires.
