Russian forces are watching military activities at the Western Ukrainian Airport.

As the runway 10 threshold is only 133 meters from Slovak border, the Uzhhorod airport is a very sensitive area.

Slovakia’s Defence Minister has confirmed he’s received intelligence warning of possible attack on Ukraine’s Uzhhorod airport “in the near future”.

The airfield literally touches the border with Slovakia which is a NATO member state. Sending missiles in there, miss by just a few metres and Russia would bomb a NATO member state. Recently, we have seen quite a few Russian “mistakes” when it comes to precision.

Ukraine is using Uzhhorod Airport for its Bayraktar TB2 drones from Uzhgorod Airport as it has not been attacked. But it is reported that it will change, probably due to recent intelligence reports.

As the airstrip begins 100 meters from the Ukrainian-Slovak border, planes must use Slovak airspace for take-offs and landings under a special treaty.
