ALERT A NATO Osprey is reported missing in Northern Norway

A crew of four was out on training assignments and was scheduled to land just before 6 pm in Northern Norway.

A rescue helicopter together with an Orion aircraft have taken off to start research. But the weather conditions are challenging and are expected to get even worse in the future, says press officer Jan Eskild Severinsen.

  • UPDATE the rescue crew is expected to arrive soon.
  • UPDATE Parts of the wreckage have been found on the ground. south of Bodo in Norway. Ground crews are coordinated with the police and on their way, says Severinsen.

The rescue center is not aware of the nationality of the four on board the plane.
