An A320 slides into the mud and manages to get back on runway while landing at Vilnius Airport, Lithuania

A plane that skidded off managed to go back on the runway at the Vilnius airport.

An Avion Express A320 was performing flight X98242 from Bergamo to Vilnius.

The aircraft (reg. LY-NVL) first landed on the runway 19, then skidded onto the mud and then returned to the runway.

The A320 was carrying 179 passengers and six crew members when it landed in the afternoon on Saturday, February 3 2024.

As the plane slid into the grass, mud began to spray on the windows and the fuselage.

Vilnius airport was forced to stop all incoming and outgoing flights on Saturday for a while during the incident.
