British Airways #BA2033 declared an emergency and diverted to Bahrain.

On Thursday November 16th, the pilots of flight BA2033 declared an emergency inbound Doha.

The Boeing 777-200ER departed London Gatwick at 2:55 pm GMT for a 6 hour-flight to Doha.

While in final approach to Hamad International Airport, ATC has put the flight on hold due to very local strong wind gusts.

The aircraft (reg. G-YMME) was holding at 25,000 ft for 30 minutes when the crew decided to divert to Manama (BAH).

Pilots squawked 7700 (general emergency) still at 24,000 ft due to low fuel, performed a rapid descent and required priority landing.

The Boeing 777 landed safely on runway 12L then flew to Doha 2 hours later.

The return flight #BA2032 will land back at London Gatwick 3 hours late.
