ALERT British Airways #BA540 declared an emergency over Paris and returned to London

British Airways BA540 to Bologna returned to London Heathrow.

British Airways flight BA540 from London (LHR) to Bologna (BLQ) has declared an emergency over Paris.

Crew advised ATC about a technical issue. The Airbus A320 (reg. G-TTNC) made a U-turn over Paris for a return to London.

The 5-year old narrowbody aircraft made a fly by over London Biggin Hill Airport at 10,000 ft then a lower one at 7,000 ft then made approach to London Heathrow.

The plane landed on runway 27R where it was met by emergency services.

The flight BA540 has now been cancelled by British Airways.
