easyJet #U26427 declared an emergency outbound London Gatwick following mechanical issues

easyJet flight to Dubrovnik returned to London Gatwick following a technical issue.

The flight #U26427 to Dubrovnik, Croatia took off at 8:10 BST but the crew detected an issue and declared an emergency..

Passengers were told there was a problem with the aircraft just 15 minutes into the flight.

The A320 (reg. G-EJCV) started to hold at 4,200 ft before returning to London Gatwick Airport reporting hydraulic issues.

Crew members said the aircraft was ‘deteriorating’ and they needed to return to the runway.

Following the hydraulic oil pressure problem, there was a compressor fail, engine 1 had shut down on final approach.

The aircraft was met by emergency services at Gatwick when it landed.

easyJet advised passengers: We’re very sorry that your flight has now been diverted back to London Gatwick. This is due to a technical issue with your aircraft.

Passengers were given a £6 voucher to spend at the airport whilst they waited for their replacement flight.
