Air Canada flight to Montreal returned to Algiers quickly after departure.

Air Canada flight #AC71 to Montreal was holding after departure before returning to Algiers.

The Airbus A330-343 took off at 15:30 (local time) but quickly was holding over the sea at 5,000 ft.

While an Air France flight from Paris ORY and an Air Algerie flight from Paris CDG were holding, the Aircraft (reg. C-GOFV) was returning.

The plane landed back at Algiers about one hour after departure, followed by emergency vehicles and fire trucks.

Once landed, the engine number 2 has been inspected, confirming a technical issue with the aircraft.
