A Challenge Airlines Boeing 747 and FedEx Boeing 757 collided during towing at Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion Airport. Both aircraft sustained damage in the incident.

The incident occurred in the airport’s cargo area when a tug was towing the Challenge Airlines B747. The tug driver lost control of the aircraft, which collided with a FedEx B757 that was parked nearby.

As a result, the towing vehicle became stuck under the 747, and a tear was made in the 757’s rudder. Thankfully, the tug driver was not injured.

The 747 sustained minor damage to its nose gear and fuselage. The 757 sustained more significant damage to its rudder, which will need to be repaired before the aircraft can be returned to service.

The incident did not cause any flight cancellations or delays. However, it did disrupt the flow of traffic in the airport’s cargo area.

The Israeli Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the cause of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
