A Jet 2 flight form Manchester suffered an engine problem on take off.
The aircraft was performing flight #LS1745 from Manchester to Palma de Mallorca.
The Boeing 757 lined up on runway 23R but a loud bang was heard when full thrust was set.
Pilots immediately aborted takeoff and went to the taxiway then the to gate followed by emergency vehicles.
This particular aircraft (reg. G-LSAK) is 26 years old.
Flights operations on runway 23R were suspended, the runway 23L was activated.
