ALERT A Russian Air Force Ilyushin IL-76 has crashed 170 km south-east of Moscow

A Russian Air Force Ilyushin IL-76 was destroyed by fire and it crashed near Ryazan Air Base, situated 170 km south-east of Moscow.

The cargo aircraft was performing a training flight from Orenhurg to Belgorod and it had reportedly landed in Ryazan for refueling, according to the Ministry of Defense. The air traffic controller reportedly observed a fire in engine no.4 shortly after takeoff.

After the engine caught fire, the II-76 crashed into the ground, caught fire, broke up, and burst into flames. Nine crew members were on board the aircraft and four of them lost their lives whereas, the other five were injured in the crash.

Reports from local media suggest that one of the engines was found in a field about 1 km before the crash site.

Injured Crew Members:

24-year-old Ruslan Islamov — fracture of the lower leg and lower back, blunt abdominal trauma, concussion, CGM traumatic brain injury, traumatic shock. Was admitted conscious, now on a ventilator.

38-year-old Stepan Perminov – chest injury, fractures of the ribs, shoulder, and hip, contusion of the heart, traumatic shock. In intensive care in critical condition on a ventilator.

34-year-old Sergey Duzaev – rib fractures, hemopneumothorax, traumatic shock. Now in operation.

35-year-old Sergey Kharisov – chest injury, pulmonary contusion, hip fracture, traumatic shock. In intensive care in critical condition.

30-year-old Vitaly Gusarov – concussion, traumatic brain injury, blunt chest trauma, fractures of the ribs, lower legs, traumatic shock. In intensive care, in critical condition, but conscious.
