A Thai Airways Boeing 777-300 suffered an uncontained engine failure during takeoff.

A Thai Airways Boeing 777-300 suffered an uncontained failure of its left Engine (GE90) while taking off runway 01L at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The Boeing 777-300 (reg. HS-TKL) was performing flight #TG970 to Zürich, returned to the gate after the incident. None of the 359 people in board was Hurt.

Thai Airways arranged a replacement flight #TG970D, using another Boeing 777 (reg. HS-TKK), leaving Bangkok 12 hours later.

The return flight #TG971 to be delayed by around 9-10 hours.
