The UK Civil Aviation Authority is on high alert to rescue Thomas Cook customers if the tour operator cannot be saved from collapse within 24 hours.

The CAA has held detailed conversations with a group of five airlines to rescue passengers, which includes:

  • British Airways
  • Virgin Atlantic
  • easyJet
  • German travel operator Tui
  • Jet2

Thomas Cook Group is meeting its biggest shareholder and creditors since 9am in last-ditch talks to avoid collapse.
