Flydubai becomes a first-time Airbus customer with a major order for 150 A321neo aircraft.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 18 November 2025 – flydubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 150 A321neo aircraft, marking the airline’s first-ever Airbus order and signaling strong confidence in Dubai’s long-term growth strategy.
The MoU was signed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, and Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, during a ceremony held on the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2025. flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith also attended the signing.
“We are pleased to announce this landmark agreement for 150 A321neo aircraft, representing an important milestone in flydubai’s journey,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Beyond expanding our fleet, this strategic investment strengthens our long-term growth plans and positions flydubai to play a key role in the development of Dubai World Central, which we aim to see become the largest airport in the world.”
Christian Scherer welcomed flydubai as a new Airbus customer, saying: “We are delighted that one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing airlines has selected the A321neo. This decision highlights the value Airbus delivers in range, efficiency, and passenger comfort. We look forward to supporting flydubai as it unlocks new growth opportunities with our aircraft.”
By the end of October 2025, Airbus had received orders for more than 7,200 A321neo aircraft from nearly 100 customers worldwide.
