In north Mali, a German military helicopter crashed. The Eurocopter EC665 Tiger was deployed in the country under the UN peace mission a spokesman said. Both pilots were killed during the crash, which occurred in Gao region.
Lufthansa flight #LH543 from Bogota to Frankfurt had to land at Manchester Airport after a woman gave birth on board. The Airbus A340 (reg. D-AIFC) landed at 13:15 local time and is scheduled to refuel and take off in about one hour to Frankfurt.
Travellers were evacuated from Perth Airport this afternoon after an alarm was evacuated. Hundreds of flight passengers stood in the car park of the domestic airport while the alarm was investigated about 2pm.
